Alberta’s Infrastructure Minister says the many projects they’ve announced for the next few years will help the economy both grow and diversify.

Prasad Panda did a tour of the region and he told the Trending 55 Newsroom that the province is spending $20.7 billion into Infrastructure over the next three years.

“These construction projects, they’ll keep skill trades people like the carpenters, welders and plumbers and all these skilled trades, they all will be busy and when they visit project sites like this, they’ll go to the local gas stations and coffee shops and restaurants.”

One of the projects highlighted by the Minister, is the construction of the new Ecole des Quatre-Vents in Peace River.

Panda says there’s a lot of emphasis being placed on projects happening in smaller rural communities.

“This vital infrastructure will actually stabilize the local economy and also many of those small communities, it will stabilize the local populations and help them survive.”
