Peace River RCMP make arrest in significant drug and firearm investigation

Peace River, Alta. – On Feb. 3, 2023, at 6:15 a.m., Peace Regional RCMP, with assistance from RCMP Western Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, and the RCMP Emergency Response Team, acting on information gathered from an earlier investigation, executed search warrants at two separate residences within Peace River.

As a result of the searched RCMP seized:

  • Two loaded prohibited handguns
  • One 12 gauge shotgun
  • 564.5 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 48.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 10.1 grams of suspected fentanyl

As a result of the investigation, Bradley Victor Morency, (43), a resident of Peace River, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a weapon obtained by an offence
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order (x2)
  • Careless use of a firearm (x2)
  • Tampering with a serial number
  • Possession of a scheduled substance for the purposes of trafficking (x3)
  • Failure to comply with conditions of release (x2)

Bradley Morency was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody until February 13, 2023 at Peace River Provincial Court.
