This past weekend’s flooding of Downtown Peace River has caused a clinic to close for the time being.

The Peace River Addiction & Mental Health Clinic, located on 98 Street in the Powell Building was one of the locations affected by the flood, which brought the town into a local state of emergency.

According to a media release, Alberta Health Services says it is unsure when the clinic will be able to re-open.

AHS says no staff or clients were in the building and cannot offer a damage assessment at this time or a time for restoration.

AHS says it is looking to find an alternate site to deliver services.

In the meantime, the public health agency says if you are in crisis, you should call your healthcare professional, or call 911 if it’s an emergency.
