With scorching temperatures in the forecast, the province has upgraded the wildfire danger in the Peace River Forest Area to very high. All current fire permits will remain active and new permits will face evaluation on a case-by-case basis. Burning without a valid permit is prohibited.

- Safe wood campfires
- Backyard fire pits
- Portable propane fire
- Gas or propane stoves and barbecues
- Catalytic or infrared-style heaters
The fire advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve. There are currently no wildfires in the Peace River Forest Area.
The province wants to remind people campfires should never be left unattended. Soak it, stir it and soak it again until cool to the touch to ensure it is extinguished. If you see a wildfire, report it immediately by calling 310-FIRE.
