The Peace River Fire Department responded to a pair of fires early Friday morning.

The first one happened just after midnight just east of Pat’s Creek Road. A grass fire ignited, spread due to the evening winds. Firefighters report no significant damage.

And then, just after 6 AM, emergency responders went to the North End on 98 Street two blocks south of Reddy Mart.

“A 2012 Ford Pick-up truck was fully engulfed,” said Fire Chief Tim Harris. “No injuries were reported at this point, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.”

Harris says the truck was completely totaled.

Anyone who sees a fire or something suspicious happening is encouraged to call 911 immediately.
