RCMP REPORT:
Dixonville, Alta. – On August 14, 2022, at 11:21 a.m., Peace Regional RCMP, along with the Fire Department, EMS and STARS Air Ambulance, were dispatched to a call of a missing paddle-boarder on Figure 8 lake near Dixonville, Alta.
It was reported that an adult male and adult female had gone onto the lake on a single paddleboard that had overturned. The female swam to shore however the male did not make it to the shoreline.
Peace Regional RCMP, the Fire Department and Search and Rescue conducted a search by boat, land and air.
This morning at approximately 8:00 a.m., the body of the 27-year-old missing paddle-boarder was recovered from the lake.
Peace Regional RCMP send their condolences to all affected by this tragedy.
