On June 23rd, Peace Regional RCMP received a warrant to investigate a rural County of Northern Lights property regarding the investigation of stolen goods. The warrant was executed, resulting in recovery of stolen items.
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of 31 year-old Daryl James Pearson of Peace River, who was charged with two charges of possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and three charges of failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
Pearson was brought before a Justice, and was granted release on cash bail with conditions, pending his appearance in Peace River provincial court in relation to the allegations.
On June 30th, Peace Regional RCMP responded to suspicious activity regarding a broken down vehicle in the rural Grimshaw area, which upon investigation, RCMP found Pearson, who was found to be in breach of his release conditions. Police also found and recovered more stolen property. Pearson was charged once more, now with possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000, and five counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
A judicial hearing was held for Pearson, who was remanded into custody and is next scheduled to appear in Peace River provincial court on August 6th in relation to these allegations.
