Residents of High Prairie will have to continue to wait for the demolition of the old Health Complex.

At a recent Town Council Meeting, a letter from MLA Dan Williams was presented on behalf of the Alberta Government.
In the document it was revealed that the contract for demolition would likely be posted in July, and then awarded in August.
The entire project will start soon afterwards and is expected to last until next March.
Complete restoration of the site is planned for late Spring.

The process is quite extensive due to the involvement of hazardous material removal.
Government officials are working with experts to ensure proper due diligence and planning is in place to guard the health and safety of High Prairie residents throughout the demolition.

The old High Prairie Health Complex was vacated in April of 2017.
