NPHL Playoffs Begin This Week

The playoffs are finally here in the North Peace Hockey League.

The regular season wrapped up on the weekend, now all eight teams will compete for the Campbell Cup. It was last awarded in 2019 with the Grande Prairie Athletics winning the championship that season.

In the East Division, the Falher Pirates and Manning Comets finished in a tie for first place with 26 points, but the Pirates got the tiebreaker since they had 13 wins while the Comets had 12. The Valleyview Jets finished with 14 points and the Grimshaw Huskies had 10.

In the West Division, the Dawson Creek Canucks had the leagues best record 36 points. They were followed in the division by the Grande Prairie Athletics with 29 points, the Spirit River Rangers with 20, and the Fort St. John Flyers with 8.

The first round matchups will all be best of seven series that will start this week.
