I saw a trailer for this on my last movie Monday excursion and as I was only half paying attention to the trailer I didn’t get spoiled at all which made this movie a lot more enjoyable.
The invitation is a thriller so don’t go in expecting to get spooked too much. It’s got some horror elements but that’s not its main goal here. Although I will admit some of those jump scares did get me… It is trying to tell an interesting story using those spooky moments to really hit home what’s happening.
A short introduction would be that our protagonist Evie meets a long lost relative and gets invited to a wedding (that’s where the title came from) but on her trip she discovers that there is more to this wedding than she first thought. Dun Dun Dun.
If what I have said sounds interesting so far I would totally recommend checking this out. it was a fun watch and its not super long either so I felt like it is totally worth checking out.
As I’m writing this the movie currently has low and mixed reviews with some saying that it was predictable and not for them. so take that as you will.
