September 11th the Canadian Country Music Awards will be live from Calgary and you will get to see some amazing performances from many of Canada’s top country artists and some up and coming ones. Lindsey Ell and rapper Dax The James Barker Band, Gord Bamford, Meghan Patrick, Bailey Zimmerman, Jess Moskaluke, Tyler Joe Miller, SACHA, Tim Hicks and JoJo Mason will all perform on the show. They will join Jade Eagleson, High Valley, Brett Kissel with 98°, MacKenzie Porter, Dallas Smith and Tenille Townes, who were announced last month to perform at the award show.

The award show is trending in the direction of less about the awards itself and putting on a spectacle for the viewing public whether on television or streaming online. While I have mixed feelings about it, it does provide viewers the chance to hear and see the artists perform live and see that they can sing and perform without the aid of auto tune or heavy editing like some genres have become reliant on. The amount of artists or bands/groups I was turned off of after seeing them perform live on TV during award shows is long, but hearing a number of these artists/groups live in person myself I don’t think that should be a worry here.
