Justice Minister and Solicitor General, Kaycee Madu was on the Hot Seat to discuss the tabling of two bills, which is part of a package of legislation on democratic reform.
Bill 51, which is known as the Citizen Initiative Act creates a process in which people can bring forward policy ideas for debate.
Bill 52 is the Recall Act, which would allow residents to be able to petition to remove an elected official from office and force a by-election.
We also ask Madu about the new funding model for RCMP costs for rural areas and if this will lead to a larger voice for our communities on policing issues.
