The MD of Peace is being forced to pay $386,000 to the Town of Peace River for recreational funding for facilities in town.
Two years ago, the provincial government began working on a project to form agreements with neighboring municipalities and provide compensation for recreational cultural, and community support services.
The MD is being mandated by an arbitrator to pay a percentage of the annual net expenses, and some capital life cycle costs for facilities in town like Misery Mountain Ski Hill, the Pool and the Multiplex, among other facilities.
