Masks To Be Required At Grande Prairie Airport

If you’re going to be doing any flying out of the Grande Prairie Airport, you will have to wear a mask at the airport starting this weekend.

Airport CEO Brian Grant says in a statement that the policy is being put in place to ensure the safest possible travel environment while protecting the community from potential risks of COVID-19.

The Airport says changes in provincial COVID-19 recommendations have lead to steady increases in passenger traffic.

This restriction does not apply to curbside drop off or parking however, as passengers can still be met outside in front of the terminal building should their ride not have an appropriate face covering to access the building.

The mask rule already applies to those who are flying on airplanes across the country.

With the new rules coming into effect on Saturday, the current restrictions of the airport only being limited to passengers will be removed.
