Manning’s Deklan Whillans is now into his first season of college hockey.

Whillans goes to Anna Maria College, a Division 3 school in Massachusetts, and says he’s managed to adjust to both the level of play and the school work.

“I’ve played a lot of junior hockey and then coming over here I wasn’t sure what I was going to expect but I felt like I’ve adapted pretty well so far and playing pretty good. I hadn’t been to school for like four years until this year, but you just kinda have to make your schedule and put aside when you have to when you go to the rink and when to do your homework and make sure you get it done and just do all that. It’s going well.”

The school is located in Paxton, Massachusetts and we also asked Whillans about the community there and his studying for a business administration major.

“I’ve always been interested in getting into the business world and eager to learn more about it and hopefully get a degree from it and it’s been going good so far. Paxton is a little place like Manning. It’s got a little Dunkin Donuts, a little coffee shop and a pizza place and that’s about it. We’re about 20 minutes out of Worcester, the second biggest city in Massachusetts.”
