The Town of Grimshaw proudly announces that Tamara Lorenzen has achieved her Alberta Water and Wastewater certification through Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, officially becoming the Town’s Water Operator. Her accomplishment was celebrated during the Public Works Appreciation Week barbecue earlier today, attended by colleagues, residents, and guests.

Tamara, a dedicated employee of the Town for 10 years, began the certification process in May 2024 and successfully completed all six required exams with an impressive average score of 83. In her new role, she is responsible for testing water quality, monitoring chlorine residuals, tracking aquifer water consumption, and ensuring compliance by submitting reports to Alberta Environment and Protected Areas. She also manages the drinking water systems for the Village of Berwyn.

Reflecting on her achievement, Tamara expressed deep gratitude:

> “I’m incredibly blessed to have the support of my family, my coworkers, and the community. Everyone has played a part—whether by encouraging me through the process, helping me study, or just believing in me. That support kept me grounded and focused.”

While her primary focus is now water operations, Tamara continues to assist the Public Works department whenever possible, contributing to various projects, including the final phase of the cemetery remediation project, set to conclude this summer.

The Town of Grimshaw extends heartfelt congratulations to Tamara on this milestone and thanks her for her service and commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of our drinking water.
