Mackenzie County has ordered a mandatory evacuation of the La Crete Ferry Campground.
All evacuees are required to register at the Mackenzie County Office in La Crete, or by calling (780) 928-3983.Anyone that requires lodging must go to the La Crete Reception Centre at 15411-1060 TWP Road, which is south of La Crete.
Manned Barricades are being added to the entrances of the campground to prevent unauthorized campground entry. All campers are being warned by the RCMP about the evacuation.
Anyone on the east side of the river is being asked to evacuate to La Crete as well. The La Crete ferry is closed until further notice.
