Provincial Justice Minister and Solicitor General Doug Schweitzer joined the Trending 55 Newsroom to talk about a few initiatives of the ministry.

Schweitzer was asked about:

  1. A new Alberta Parole Board
  2. The establishment of the Alberta Firearms Advisory Committee (which includes Central Peace-Notley MLA, Todd Loewen)
  3. The introduction of Bill 21, which is meant to address a backlog in the justice system. We also asked about how the COVID-19 pandemic could affect the clock in terms of cases expiring.
