John D’or Prairie Man In Custody After Alleged Shooting

Fort Vermilion RCMP have a man from John D’or Prairie in custody after an alleged shooting that happened early yesterday morning.

Officers were dispatched to a 9-1-1 call just after 1 AM from a victim who had been shot at by a firearm.

According to police, the victim was travelling in their vehicle when they were shot at by the suspect.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result.

The suspect fled before police arrived but their investigation later located him.

He was arrested without incident, but police weren’t able to recover the firearm.

55 year old Frank Morris Noskiye of John D’or Prairie has been charged with:

· Assault with a weapon
· Careless use of a firearm
· Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Possession contrary to prohibition order x2
· Fail to comply with an Recognizance x4
· Discharge a firearm with intent
· Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

He’ll make a court appearance in Fort Vermilion on June 2.
