Extreme heat, low humidity, and strong winds are leading to an increased risk of wildfires across Alberta.
Right now 43 wildfires are happening with over half of them classified as “out of control”.
A lot of those are in the Slave Lake Forest Area, prompting evacuations in Swan Hills and Red Earth Creek.
A red flag watch is in effect for regions across the province, signalling a volatile and potentially dangerous day for crews battling the flames.
