As of 11:45 AM on June 2, 2025, Highway 33 between the junction with Highway 2 near Kinuso and Swan Hills has reopened following earlier closures due to wildfire activity.
Motorists should be aware of reduced visibility caused by smoke and remain vigilant for personnel and equipment on or near the road surface.
Please note that Highway 33 may close without warning if wildfire conditions worsen.
A Special Air Quality Statement is in effect for Big Lakes County, including areas near Driftpile, Faust, and Kinuso, due to smoke causing poor air quality and reduced visibility.
Residents are advised to limit time outdoors and monitor for health symptoms.
