High Prairie RCMP asking for help to identify armed robbery suspect

High Prairie RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved with an armed robbery in High Prairie yesterday evening.

At about 8 P.M. yesterday, a police officer in High Prairie witnessed a male suspect running out of a business with a bottle of liquor close to 53 Avenue and 47 Street. The suspect fled in a white 2016  Jeep Cherokee and the officer didn’t pursue him because of public safety concerns.

Police learned from a 911 call that a male suspect had entered the business and approached the till with a gun and demanded money. It’s unknown how much money and bottles of liquor the suspect left the business with. The victim wasn’t injured.

RCMP are asking anyone to call 911 if they see the white 2016 Jeep Cherokee with the license plate BMB 7883, and to not approach the vehicle as its occupants are to be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the High Prairie RCMP at 780-523-3370 or your local police. If you’d like to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

RCMP have provided 2 photos of the suspect, and one stock photo of the vehicle.
