Grande Prairie RCMP charge two males following break and enter/discharging of a firearm

Sexsmith, Alta.- Grande Prairie have laid charges following an investigation into a break and enter and a firearm being discharged.

On Oct.28, 2022 around 10:30 p.m., Grande Prairie Rural RCMP were called to a report of a Break and Enter in the area of Range Road 62 and Township Road 731. The suspects left the location and discharged a firearm at the vehicle of the complainant. Grande Prairie rural and city RCMP along with Spirit River RCMP and the Integrated Traffic unit located the suspects in a stolen truck. As a result, two males were arrested. A rifle and bear spray were located and seized.

Darcy Beckman (33) a resident of Saddle Hills County and Colton Beckman (30) a resident of Grande Prairie have been charged with the following:

·         Break and enter

·         Flight from police

·         Careless use of a firearm

·         Discharge of a firearm

·         Possession of stolen property

·         Resist arrest

·         Fail to comply with release order x3

Colton and Darcy were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Nov. 16,2022.
