Fairview Town Council had a busy night.
They gave the go ahead for the Development of a new Tim Hortons and passed a bid for the Arena Roof Shingles Project.

Earlier today we reported that on May 26th a development permit was signed by Brandy MacInnis of Dillon Consulting Limited to build a 1.5 million dollar drive thru restaurant at 11028 100 ave in Fairview. Attached to the permit is a map showing the location and design for the Tim Hortons.
Construction will take place just off highway 2 next to a turn around that was built years ago.

Brandy MacInnis spoke at the meeting, thanking the council for all their hard work helping to bring this project forward.

Construction is expected to begin this summer, with a tentative finish by October.

The Fairview Tim Hortons will be owned and operated by Peace River & Valleyview Franchise Owner Gord Drummond.
We’ll be speaking to him tomorrow about his thoughts on expanding into Fairview.

The Arena Roof Shingles Project for the Fairplex was awarded to Girouxville Company – All Around the Peace Roofing.
They were the cheapest of 7 bids that were received by the town.

The projected cost of the job is $167,750, which is slightly higher than the $150,000 that was budgeted.
The money will be coming out of the Community Services Capital Reserve, less funding that’s expected from the MD.
The project will take place over the summer, with completion no later than the end of August.
