Freedom to Read Week – Peace River Library
Annual event that encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom.
The Peace River Municipal Library will be posting about previously banned material (including a work that was banned locally) on our social media throughout the week.
Residents interested in exercising their Freedom to Read are welcome to schedule a contactless Grab & Go appointment to pick up books and other material by calling the library at (780) 624-4076.
Additional information about Freedom to Read Week, the importance of intellectual freedom, and the history of censorship in Canada can be found at www.freedomtoread.ca.
