We had a chance to catch up with Agriculture and Forestry Minister, Devin Dreeshen on the Trending 55 Hot Seat. We covered a wide range of topics with Dreeshen, including:
- Increasing Alberta’s food exports. “About 80 percent of what we grow and raise here in the province gets exported. We have four international offices as a province around the world right now and we have now doubled that capacity so we will be in key markets like Singapore.”
- On his feelings of pride for Alberta firefighters who will soon return from Oregon where they have been helping our neighbours to the south battle the blazes on the west coast. “You can’t be more proud as an Albertan to see our brave firefighters going into the most dangerous places around the world when they are asked and when they are needed. US embassy officials in Ottawa that have family out west did a video to say ‘thank you’ to all the Canadian firefighters. It puts shivers up and down your spine to see how brave and great our men and women are.”
