COVID-19 UPDATE: September 24

On September 24, Alberta Health Services confirmed 158 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 17,190.

One person passed away over the last 24 hours, and 261 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 1,370 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.

There are currently 130 active cases in our zone with 15 cases in Mackenzie County and six in the County of Northern Lights.

AHS is reporting that 15,467 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,462 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
