COVID-19 UPDATE: September 2

On September 2, Alberta Health Services confirmed 114 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 14,180.

One person passed away in the last 24 hours, and 242 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 962 cases of COVID-19 and 30 people have passed away.

There are currently 167 active cases in our zone with 65 cases in Mackenzie County, 24 cases in Clear Hills County and nine in the Municipal District of Fairview.

AHS is reporting that 12,535 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,403 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
