COVID-19 UPDATE: September 18

On September 18, Alberta Health Services confirmed 146 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 16,381.

One person passed away over the last day, in the MD of Lesser Slave River, and overall, 255 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 1,306 cases of COVID-19 and 33 people have passed away.

There are currently 197 active cases in our zone with 50 cases in Mackenzie County, 25 in the County of Northern Lights, nine cases in Clear Hills County, and six in the Municipal District of Peace.

AHS is reporting that 14,702 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,424 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
