COVID-19 UPDATE: October 27

On October 27, Alberta Health Services confirmed 422 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 26,155.

Two people passed away, which means 309 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 1,917 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.

There are currently 334 active cases in our zone with 12 cases in the MD of Spirit River, six cases in Mackenzie County and the MD of Peace, while all other jurisdictions in our area have four active cases or less.

AHS is reporting that 21,108 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 4,438 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
