On October 26, Alberta Health Services confirmed 1,440 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 25,733.
Seven people passed away, which means 307 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.
In the North Zone, there are 1,891 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.
There are currently 311 active cases in our zone with 12 cases in the MD of Spirit River, six cases in Mackenzie County, five in the MD of Peace, while all other jurisdictions in our area have four active cases or less.
AHS is reporting that 20,949 people have recovered from the virus.
This means that there are currently 4,477 active cases across Alberta.
To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
