On October 23, Alberta Health Services confirmed 432 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 24,261.

Four people passed away, which means 300 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 1,775 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.

There are currently 222 active cases in our zone with 12 cases in the MD of Spirit River, five cases in Mackenzie County, as well as the MD of Peace, while all other jurisdictions in our area have two active cases or less.

AHS is reporting that 20,310 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 3,651 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
