COVID-19 UPDATE: October 20

On October 20, Alberta Health Services confirmed 323 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 22,996.

One person passed away, and 293 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 1,705 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.

There are currently 198 active cases in our zone with  13 cases in the MD of Spirit River, six cases in Mackenzie County, five cases in Big Lakes County, while all other areas in our area have three active cases or less.

AHS is reporting that 19,500 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 3,203 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
