COVID-19 UPDATE: October 1

On October 1, Alberta Health Services confirmed 173 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 18,235.

No one passed away over the last 24 hours, and 267 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 1,442 cases of COVID-19 and 35 people have passed away.

There are currently 102 active cases in our zone with 11 cases in Mackenzie County and nine cases in Northern Sunrise County

AHS is reporting that 16,370 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,596 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
