COVID-19 UPDATE: November 30

On November 30, Alberta Health Services confirmed 1,733 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 58,177. 

Eight people passed away, which means 541 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.      

In the North Zone, there are 3,810 cases of COVID-19 and 46 people have passed away, including one person over the weekend.   

There are currently 869 active cases in our zone with 34 in the MD of Peace, 30 in the MD of Greenview, nine in Big Lakes County, seven in Mackenzie County, five in the County of Northern Lights and Northern Sunrise County while all other jurisdictions in our area have three active cases or less.      

AHS is reporting that 41,182 people have recovered from the virus. 

This means that there are currently 16,454 active cases across Alberta.    

Outbreaks have been declared at the following places: 

  • Fairview Health Complex 
  • Peace River Correctional Facility  

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.  

It is also recommended you wear a mask if social distancing is not possible.
