COVID-19 UPDATE: November 27

On November 27, Alberta Health Services confirmed 1,227 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 53,105. 

Nine people passed away, which means 519 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.      

In the North Zone, there are 3,532 cases of COVID-19 and 45 people have passed away.   

There are currently 769 active cases in our zone with 36 in the MD of Greenview, 27 in the MD of Peace, six in Mackenzie County, while all other jurisdictions in our area have three active cases or less.      

AHS is reporting that 38,369 people have recovered from the virus. 

This means that there are currently 14,217 active cases across Alberta.    

Outbreaks have been declared at the following places: 

  • Fairview Health Complex 
  • Peace River Correctional Facility  

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.  

It is also recommended you wear a mask if social distancing is not possible.
