COVID-19 UPDATE: May 29

On May 29, Alberta Health Services confirmed 22 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 6,977.

It was also reported that two people passed away in the last 24 hours. 143 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 239 cases of COVID-19 and 16 people have passed away.

There are currently 22 active cases in our zone.

Chief Medical Officer of Health, Doctor Deena Hinshaw also announced that the outbreak declared at the Manoir du Lac retirement residence in McLennan is now over.

AHS is reporting that 6,218 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 612 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing one’s hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
