COVID-19 UPDATE: February 10

On February 10, Alberta Health Services confirmed 339 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 127,231.

Six people passed away, which means 1,728 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

421 people are currently in hospital due to COVID.

In the North Zone, there are 10,628 cases of COVID-19 and 120 people have passed away.

There are currently 722 active cases in our zone with 40 in Mackenzie County, 32 in the MD of Greenview and the MD of Peace, 27 in Big Lakes County, 14 in Northern Sunrise County, while all other jurisdictions in our area have four or less active cases.

AHS is reporting that 120,136 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 5,706 active cases across Alberta.

Outbreaks have been declared at the following facilities:

  • Peace River Correctional Centre
  • Points West Living, Peace River
  • Stone Brook Lodge, Grimshaw
  • Sugarplum Tree Daycare, Peace River
  • Tolko Industries, High Level

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.

The Government of Alberta also made masks mandatory indoors
