COVID-19 UPDATE: December 14

On December 14, Alberta Health Services confirmed 1,887new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 81,986. 

15 people passed away, which means 733 Albertans have now died from COVID-19. 

In the North Zone, there are 5,415 cases of COVID-19 and 56 people have passed away, including two people over the weekend. 

There are currently 1,287 active cases in our zone with 30 in the MD of Peace, 28 in Mackenzie County, 26 in Northern Sunrise County and Big Lakes County, 13 in the MD of Greenview,  while all other jurisdictions in our area have two or less active cases. 

AHS is reporting that 60,130 people have recovered from the virus. 

This means that there are currently 21,123 active cases across Alberta. 

Outbreaks have been declared at the following facility: 

  • Heimstaed Lodge, LaCrete 

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
