COVID-19 UPDATE: August 28

On August 28, Alberta Health Services confirmed 158 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 13,476.

No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, but 237 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 876 cases of COVID-19 and 27 people have passed away.

There are currently 154 active cases in our zone with 60 cases in Mackenzie County, 14 cases in Clear Hills County and seven in the County of Northern Lights.

AHS is reporting that 12,054 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,185 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
