COVID-19 UPDATE: August 11

On August 11, Alberta Health Services confirmed 85 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 11,772.

It was also reported that three people passed away, including one person in the northern zone. 216 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 670 cases of COVID-19 and 21 people have passed away.

There are currently 121 active cases in our zone with 57 cases in Mackenzie County.

AHS is reporting that 10,552 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 1,004 active cases across Alberta.

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
