A man from Peace River has been handed an 18-month Conditional Sentence Order.

Mason McSween was sentenced on drug possession charges.

McSween was arrested in July of 2022 on a search at a home in the County of Northern Lights.

Cocaine, Ecstasy, meth, cash and contraband cigarettes were seized.

A bait vehicle operation last Spring, has had charges withdrawn.

Accusations of facing possession of drugs and stolen property against Gerald Lyons of Fairview, and Madeline Pue have been thrown out.

The operation was planted after reports of crimes committed on the Woodland Cree First Nation.

Two others were also charged in the case.

A resident in Grimshaw is serving jail time for possession of firearms and drugs.

Clifford Carifelle has been given 6 1/2 month in prison, stemming from a 2022 arrest.

Carifelle was one of three charged in the search of a Grimshaw home.

Carifelle and one other, also face charges stemming from an arrest in Falher last October.

A loaded firearm, other weapons and ammunition were found in a stolen truck.

He’s due back in court in May.

A order of paying restitution has been handed to a Grimshaw resident.

Tywon Larose will pay $7,500 after a series of searches in town.

The searches found stolen firearms and $20,000 worth of stolen firefighting equipment.

Larose was given time served last February for Break and Enter to a home, that was not a dwelling place.
