High winds caused the wildfire to gain some traction tonight. Currently the east end of the fire is still approximately 1km west of Range Road 64 and 3.5 km South of Highway 64.
Large bombers were brought in with fire retardant to assist as well as the helicopter dumps. Alberta fire service ground crews along with the Worsley Volunteer Fire department worked hard this evening to keep things safe.
The wind has calmed and the Dozer crews can now actively secure additional guards.
