Designated as Out of Control
We sincerely appreciate your understanding as we provide timely updates to ensure the accuracy of information for our residents. To maintain this accuracy, we rely on updates from Alberta Fire Services, and therefore, must exercise patience in awaiting their reports.
During the previous night, strong winds originating from the northeast were observed. We remain optimistic that these wind conditions resulted in blowing back into the wildfire with minimal to no further expansion. Additionally, the forthcoming cooler temperatures in the upcoming days are expected to work in our favor.
Highway 64 has been reopened for travel. However, we urge motorists to exercise caution due to potential low visibility caused by smoke in the area. Dedicated crews are actively working along the affected area of Highway 64.
ATCO, is in the process of repairing and restoring power to affected residents who have experienced outages and damages.
We anticipate receiving an update from Alberta Fire Services by 10:00 a.m., and we will promptly provide further information as soon as it becomes available.
