Notice to residents regarding extension of temporary bed closures at the Northwest Health Centre and St. Theresa General Hospital…
Due to a continued high number of nursing staff vacancies at each facility, Alberta Health Services has made the decision to extend the temporary closure of acute care beds in both facilities.
- Four of the 12 acute/medical patient beds at Northwest Health Centre will remain temporarily closed until November 22, 2021.
- Twelve of the 22 acute/medical patient beds at St. Theresa General Hospital will remain temporarily closed until November 30, 2021.
These beds may re-open sooner if staffing levels permit.
Other services, including emergency are not affected by the bed closures .
There are currently no plans to reduced health care service in the two communities, as the closures are a temporary measure.
