A Busy Season At Mighty Peace Golf Club

Despite some uncertainty at the start of the golf season, the Mighty Peace Golf Club was actually busier than normal this year.

Dave Allen, one of the owners of the course, says even with some different rules they had to put in this year, they had a lot of cooperation from people playing the course.

“Everybody adapted. People could take a golf cart by on their own if they didn’t want to share with somebody in the beginning. I think as the summer went on people got more comfortable, but certainly in the beginning people were hesitant and wanted to follow the rules that the government had set out and so we did that.”

Allen says golfers were able to adjust to some of the additional rules they had in place this season and he anticipates that may continue into next year.

“I don’t know if we’ll be putting out any bunker rakes or ball washers or any of that stuff for a while. We’re not holding PGA tournaments or anything out there, people can follow the rules and play by the rules of golf and really not be breaking any of the main rules.”

Allen attributes the busy season to “limited things for people to do and golf providing an outlet to get outdoors.”

The province didn’t allow golf courses to open until May but Allen says they saw a “surge” of green fees and member play early on in the season.
