Police say that just after 7:20 a.m. on March 31st, Red Earth Creek RCMP received a report of shots fired in the community. Additional calls indicated a man had locked himself inside a home while a suspect allegedly fired a rifle at a nearby residence.
Officers arrived on scene around 8:45 a.m., quickly establishing containment and attempting to negotiate with the suspect. After roughly two hours, the individual surrendered peacefully to police.
Twenty-six-year-old Eddie Nanemahoo of Trout Lake now faces several charges, including careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and obstructing police.
