The Town of High Prairie is mourning the loss of former Fire Chief Bill Eckel.
Eckel dedicated 48 years to the High Prairie Fire Department, a commitment officials describe as extraordinary. Over nearly five decades, he played a key role in protecting residents while also mentoring and guiding generations of firefighters who followed in his footsteps.
In recognition of his life and service, flags at the Town office will be lowered to half-mast.
Council and Administration extended condolences to Eckel’s family, friends, and all past and present members of the fire department, noting his legacy will continue to live on in the community he served so proudly.
