40 members of Alberta Wildfire, including some from Peace River and area, helped battle Grass Fires in Australia over the past month.
Alberta, BC and Canada were returning a favour to Australia, after the Aussies battled fires in the Northwest in 2023.
Tannis McNabb is the Information Coordinator in Peace River and part of the Trip Team.
She explained the differences between the weather, the approaches, as the Aussies battle Grass Fires more, and lack of water resources between Austraili.a and Alberta.
McNabb also emphasized the relationship between the Canadians and the Aussies, especially when it comes to firefighting efforts.
