The Municipal District of Greenview Council has significant to support the Maskwa Medical Center’s development by directing Administration to prepare a municipal guarantee bylaw and giving first reading to the Maskwa Medical Center Guarantee Bylaw.
If adopted, this bylaw would enable Greenview to provide a corporate of up to $58 million, assisting the not-for-profit organization in securing construction financing from ATB Financial, a guarantee structured to become part of a mortgage between Maskwa and ATB, to be repaid by Maskwa.
The Maskwa Medical Center, adjacent to the Grande Prairie Hospital, aims enhance healthcare access across Northwestern Alberta.
The facility will feature medical specialist clinics and an academic teaching clinic, developed in with University of Alberta’s Faculty of Family Medicine, to expedite patient referrals expand local physician training opportunities.
By supporting the project’s financing, Greenview is advancing a regional to improve healthcare for its residents and increase the number of physicians serving communities throughout the Region.
